Antenna Design Engineer Job Opportunity

SI2 is a hi-tech electronics company whose mission is to create innovative flexible and conformal electronic systems for government applications. Our current portfolio of projects includes leading edge programs developing antennas, RF systems and metamaterial devices for the DoD. SI2 is currently seeking highly qualified candidates for an Antenna Design Engineer to support the growth of these on-going projects.

Job Description:

As an Antenna Design Engineer, you will provide technical expertise in the design and analysis of innovative antennas and related subsystems for the US military market. As a full-time employee, you will be responsible for supporting innovative antenna proposals, research, specifications, designs and product development. You will work with a team of engineers, program management, subcontractors and customers to develop innovative antenna and related subsystem solutions.

Desired Experience:

• Demonstrated capabilities in developing antennas for military applications ranging from 200 MHz thru 40 GHz.
• Working knowledge of state-of-the-art 3-D electromagnetic simulation tools for the design of antennas and phased arrays.
• Expertise in EMI techniques used to isolate antennas in close proximity to each other and other electronic systems.
• Proven ability to interface with customers, understand key requirements and translate the needs into a system design.
• Experience on DoD programs. Having contacts within the DoD and prime contractors is a plus.
• Experience with flexible and/or conformal antenna system and an understanding of advanced antenna designs based metamaterials is a plus.

Requirements:

The successful candidate must have the following qualifications and proficiencies:

• US citizenship is required.
• Minimum MS degree with 2 or more years experience in antenna development. Advanced degrees or additional experience is a plus.
• Ability to learn new design approaches and incorporate new materials and processes with the antenna system.
• Experience with 3-D electromagnetic, circuit modeling and numerical tools (such as CST Microwave Studio, Ansoft HFSS and MatLab).
• Must be able to contribute to multi-disciplinary programs not necessarily confined to his/her area of expertise.
• Must have good organizational, presentation and writing skills; be self motivated, creative, enjoy teamwork and excel in a dynamic environment.
• Occasional travel will be required.
• Must be eligible to obtain a US Security Clearance.
